Our board of trustees brings together decades of experience in governance, law, finance, and leadership with long-standing dedication to guiding our organisation.

Stephen Koseff

Stephen Koseff is the former chief executive officer of the Investec Group. Dual listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Stephen was with Investec for 39 years in various capacities and CEO from 1996 to 2018. He is a former non-executive director the South African Banking Association, a former board member of Business Leadership South Africa, a former director of the JSE Limited, a former member of the Financial Markets Advisory Board, and former chairman of the Independent Bankers Association. Stephen is chairman of BidCorp Limited, Bud Group (Pty) Ltd, Bud Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd, Innovation Africa SA NPC, ArrowPoint Capital, co-chair of Youth Employment Service (YES) and a non-executive director of Investec Limited, Investec PLC and Irongate Funds Management Limited (Australia). In 2017, Stephen was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Commerce Degree by the University of the Witwatersrand. His qualifications include B.Comm CA(SA), MBA, H Dip. BDP and Hon. DCom (Wits).

Connie Mashaba

Connie Mashaba is the Managing Director of Black Like Me (Pty) Ltd, a company that manufactures and distributes hair care products locally and exports to other African countries. She is also the chairperson of Lephatsi Investments (Pty) Ltd, a private equity fund company investing in diverse sectors in South Africa, her family being a significant shareholder. She serves on various boards as a non-executive director including GIB Insurance Brokers, Consolidated Building Material (Pty) Ltd and The Energy Company. She was a former President of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce (JCCI) and is now a board member. Connie has attended multiple leadership programmes at Harvard Business School. She has an MBA from Wits Business School and is a member of the Institute of Directors of South Africa.

Luyolo Poswa

Luyolo Poswa is a commercial lawyer with over 26 years post admission experience, specializing in banking and finance law, debt capital markets, contracts, procurement law, municipal laws including municipal finance management act, public finance management act and regulatory compliance for state owned entities. He is the founder and CEO of Poswa Incorporated, established in 2010 with offices in Johannesburg, Durban and Bloemfontein. He is a board member of a number of companies and is currently serving as the Chairperson of the board of the JSE listed NewGold Issuer (RF) Limited and Chairperson of the board of Fradey Nominees (RF)(Pty) Ltd. Prior to establishing Poswa Incorporated he worked in banking for 8 years, having spent 5 years at Absa Corporate and Investment Banking as a banker and 3 years at Investec as a legal adviser. He holds a BA (Law), LLB and LLM (Maritime Law) from the University of Natal, Durban and LLM(International Business Law) from the University College London, University of London.

Happy Masondo

Happy Masondo is a corporate lawyer with over 25 years of experience, specializing in public interest law, constitutional law, renewable energy, IT, corporate governance, and public-private partnerships. She has advised a diverse range of clients across sectors including energy, finance, telecommunications, and infrastructure. Her career includes serving as Assistant Legal Advisor to President Nelson Mandela and practicing law in New York. A former partner at Werksmans Attorneys, she now serves as Chairperson of the Momentum Group Foundation and sits on several boards including Dis-Chem Pharmacies and Blue Label Telecoms. Ms Masondo holds law degrees from Wits and Duke University and is currently a Senior Consultant at CMS-RM Partners.

Nishlan Samujh

Nishlan Samujh started his career in 1996 at KPMG Inc. In 1999, he proceeded to join Sasol Chemical Industries for a short period before joining Investec in January 2000. Nishlan started his career at Investec in the financial reporting team as a technical accountant. In 2010 he took on the full responsibility for the finance function in South Africa. The role developed into the Global Head of Finance. Nishlan was appointed as finance director of Investec plc and Investec Limited on 1 April 2019.

Carla Prentice

Carla completed her articles at PWC in 1997. She worked in the corporate finance division at Investec for 5 years and passed all 3 levels of the CFA Program. From 2004 to 2009 she worked in the pension fund industry, overseeing one of the largest asset immunizations in South Africa. Subsequent to that she worked in various capacities within the M&A environment at E&Y and Vodacom. Carla has been with EDT since 2017.

Sarah Stein

Sarah is a qualified CA (SA) with 19 years post articles experience in corporate finance, capital management and reporting. After completing her articles at Deloitte in 2005, she joined the Corporate Finance division of Investec Bank Limited. She then went on to work at Transaction Capital Limited where she was involved in the process of taking the company public. Sarah then returned to Investec where she worked in the Group Capital and then Investment Banking divisions. She has been with EDT since 2022.
